The Texas section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) recently unveiled their report, Addressing Flood Risk: A Path Forward for Texas After Hurricane Harvey, which called for a statewide plan and minimum standards to manage flood risk from new developments across Texas.

“Last August Hurricane Harvey caused extreme flooding across Houston and other areas of southeast Texas. In light of the widespread damage and after experiencing months-long recovery, members of the Texas Section of the ASCE developed a series of comprehensive policy recommendations to better manage flood risk during extreme storms.” – ASCE
